Farmer remanded in prison for possessing Indian hemp
12 Jan 2011 193 news, socialThe Breman Asikuma District Magistrate Court has remanded a 53-year-old farmer, Kobina Asare, in prison custody for possessing dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp. His plea was not taken and will re-appear on January 27. Chief Inspector Gershon Awuyee told the court that on December 12, 2010, the police personnel in Breman Asikuma organized a raid and arrested Asare in his house with 53 wrappers of the leaves. Chief Inspector Awuyee said, during investigations Asare led the police to a nearby bush where two and a half bags of the same leaves were retrieved. GNA
