Chief commends people of Bohomoden

12 Jan 2011 159 news, social

Oyeadieyie Asah Akompanin II, Krobohene and Kyidomhene of Techiman Traditional Area has commended king-makers of Bohomoden, near Techiman, for selecting the rightful person as chief for the town. He noted that very often the chieftaincy institution was bedevilled with problems after installation and that the peaceful ceremony at Bohomoden would foster meaningful development. The Krobohene made the commendation when 59 year-old Nana Asaa Yeboah II, chief, and Nana Yaa Kruwaa, 40, queen-mother of Bohomoden swore the oath of allegiance to him at his Paramuso Palace at Krobo. Nana Yeboah succeeded his late uncle, Asa Kwabena, who died in August, 2009. Oyeadieyie Akompanin noted that the selection of a chief must be done in a way to unite the people towards accelerated development. He advised the chief and the queen-mother to encourage the youth, especially the girls, to endeavour to pursue higher academic laurels. He asked the new chiefs to respect the elders in the community and to desist from “Lording his position over them”. Nana Yeboah said education of the youth and the well-being of farmers would be his priority. He appealed for the construction of a health post as pregnant women in the area had to make the four-kilometre journey to Nsuta to receive health care. The chief advised the youth to be wary of drug addiction and alcoholism, which he said would destroy their health and retard their progress in life.
