Christians must avoid corrupt practices-Deeper Life Pastor

23 Jan 2011 387 news, religion

Pastor Yaw Osei Owusu, Brong-Ahafo Regional Overseer of Deeper Life Bible Church, at weekend exhorted Christians in responsible positions to demonstrate Christ-like behaviour to facilitate speedy national progress. He said promoting national advancement was not the work of politicians only and that Christians and Ghanaians of other faiths had a great responsibility towards this goal. Pastor Owusu was speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Ayakomaso, near Nsoatre. He observed that majority of Christians occupied important positions in the country and that if they allowed the teachings of the Bible to reflect in the discharge of their official obligations, Ghana could be a beacon of Africa. “The oil find will become a curse without the intercession of believers especially those involved in its management”, the regional overseer said. He explained that God expected Christians every where to contribute meaningfully for the development of their respective nations and advised “those Christians” who get involved in corrupt practices to shun such attitude to avoid God’s anger. “We should allow our light to shine at our work places so that we can woo more souls for Christ and obtain God’s blessings”, Pastor Owusu stressed and exhorted Christians to demonstrate the fear of God in all their endeavours. He asked members of the church to spread the Gospel in their various communities for a positive change in society. GNA
