Former Ghana Football Association chairman, Lepowura M.N.D. Jawula says the recent “Super 2” match between Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko has showed the class of the two giants in Ghana football. The class and status of Kotoko and Hearts in recent times have been questioned but the former FA capo thinks otherwise. Speaking with Asempa Sports, Lepowura Jawula said Ghana football without the two clubs will be a disaster and it is thus imperative for the football community to give them the necessary recognition. According to him, their absence was felt in the just ended G8 tourney as attendance at the final was very poor. He added that we will be kidding ourselves if we think Ghana football can flourish without them. He further stated that, people who doubted the power of the two clubs should check the African continent. “I have travelled the length and breadth of the continent as a CAF Commissioner and truly everywhere you go you hear of Kotoko and Hearts. In a related issue, the former GFA chairman said he supported the idea of sharing sponsorship revenues according to the clout and status of clubs. He believes when that is done we will not have a situation where the two clubs will boycott any competition for the competition to suffer.
