The price of anything red has gone up in the Ho Township as Valentine fever catches up with the people especially youths. Ms Yvonne Harlley, a reporter with the Information Services Department at Adaklu-Anyigbe District of the Volta Region told the GNA that a red blouse, which normally sold for GH¢ 7.50, was going for GH¢ 12 because of the Valentine celebrations. Items including cards, cloths, flowers, drinks and sweets are said to be in hot demand as lovers walked in and out of the shops. Gift shops and supermarkets have been decorated in the red colour two days to the event. Ms. Sylvia Ahiadzo, a shop attendant of the Paak Dellies Gift Shop told the GNA that sales were picking up gradually. She said the Ghana 2008 had delayed sales but expressed the hope that sales would pick up in the next two days. Ms. Ahiadzo said she had to extend her working hours up to mid-night as many customers were visiting the shop in the evenings.
