Millicom Ghana Limited, operators of the TIGO mobile phone service, on Friday announced the closure of their three-month long "Be Rich" promotion, saying the company gave out a total 53,000 Ghana cedis to 52 winners during the promotion. Mr Godwin Ansah, Value Added Service Manager of Tigo, who coordinated the promotion, said the company exceeded its 50,000 Ghana cedis target for the promotion by 3,000 Ghana cedis. He said winners took home various amounts ranging from 10 Ghana cedis to 5,000 Ghana cedis in weekly draws. Twenty-five subscribers won various amounts every month. At least four persons won 5,000 Ghana cedis, the first of them being Madam Margaret Mensah, a cook at Vic Hans International School at Abelenkpe in Accra. Mr Ismael Manaaf, a Chemical Seller in Accra also won 5,000 Ghana cedis. Madam Mensah said she used her reward to pay the fees of her two sons in the University and Mr. Manaaf said he would invest the money into his chemical trade business.
