The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) announced on Tuesday an increase in pensions for 2011 by GH¢10.03 for each pensioner on the pension payroll as at December 31, 2010. A statement signed by Evangeline Amegashie, Corporate Affairs Manager of SSNIT, said pensioners already on the minimum pension of GH¢42.11 as at December 2010 would from January 2011 be on GH¢52.14. It said the new minimum pension for 2011 new pensioners would be GH¢45.06 per month.
