School Authorities Reward Outstanding Athlete

The authorities of the Twifo Praso Senior High School on Tuesday honoured Master Richard Owusu Ofori, a final year student, for excelling in the just ended Central Regional Schools and Colleges athletics competition held at Cape Coast. Ofori, who was adjudged the best athlete in the competition, won three trophies for his school when he came first in the high, long and triple jumps. For his prize Ofori received a cash prize, a certificate and a number of reading books. Mr Mike Kojo Hayford, the headmaster of the school commended Ofori for his outstanding performance and expressed the hope that all athletes in the school would emulate him and train harder to win more laurels for the school. On academic performance in the school, Mr Hayford said eight students qualified for the university, 30 students, for Teacher Training, and 26 for the Polytechnic in the last Senior High School Certificate examination.
