Pray For Righteous Leaders: Apostle Letsu

Apostle Godlove Letsu, the Tamale Area Superintendent of the Apostolic Church of Ghana has asked Christians in the country to pray for a righteous leader to lead the country in 2009. He also appealed to political leaders and their followers to avoid defamatory statements that had the tendency of dividing society before, during and after the December elections to ensure that, the elections were peaceful free and fair. Apostle Letsu gave the advice during a sermon at the end of a four-day Easter Convention in Tamale organised by the Church to mark the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Convention was on the theme: "The triumphant Christ" and was sought to preach and remind Christians about the woes of Christ on the cross and to ask them to live righteous lives so as to enable them to enter the Kingdom of God. Apostle Letsu said 2008 was a year of decision for Ghana not only for politicians to conduct themselves maturely in their campaigns to avoid political conflicts but also for Christians to pray unceasingly for peace to prevail after the elections. He said all the Presidential Candidates had common objectives and one aim and appealed to them to accept the outcome of election results and rally behind the chosen leader to move the nation forward. He said it was necessary for Ghanaians to discard the attitude of disobedience and commence new lives, which would transform them so as to live lives worth of emulation. Apostle Letsu, who chose the sermon from Mathew Chapter 28:2 and 3 said Christ had paid the penalty for the sins of mankind on the Cross and asked all to take a vow to ensure that absolute peace was maintained in the country.
