The Old Students Association of Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School in Kumasi has honoured Dr. Kwabena Opoku-Adusei, vice-President of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), for his sense of patriotism and contribution to the development of the association. A citation presented to him by the association at a ceremony in Kumasi at the week-end read “You have by dint of hard work, determination and sense of purpose been able to raise the image of the medical profession and by extension your alma mater.” It said he had displayed a high service of patriotism by staying in Ghana when others are leaving for greener pastures. “You have, through the expertise you have acquired in the medical profession as a gynaecologist, helped many families to have children and your name is now a household name in Ghana”. Madam Vivian Gyasi-Sarfo, Second Vice President of the association, appealed to Dr. Opoku-Adusei, who is the President of the association and Medical Superintendent of the Suntreso Government Hospital, to continue to be committed to duty. Dr. Opoku-Adusei thanked the association for the honour done him and called on Ghanaian technocrats and professionals to work hard to speed up the development of the country.
