Former Minister of Information and defeated flag bearer aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dan Botwe says the party will call the 2008 elections in December in the party’s favour if ballots counted show that the party has won the elections. Dan Botwe was speaking to party supporters in Koforidua during a visit by the party’s flag bearer Nana Akufo-Addo. All the other defeated candidates were in the entourage. He was speaking in apparent reaction to the National Democratic Congress (NDC’s) warning that if the NPP calls the elections before the Electoral Commission (EC) does so, the country would be plunged into chaos just as it happened in Kenya. Dan Botwe said, the party will catalogue election results from all polling stations and if indeed the results show that the party has won the elections, the NPP will call the elections.
