The National Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has condemned a comment made by one of its members in Parliament on the health status of Prof. Evans John Atta Mills, presidential candidate of the party. It said: "Whilst the party respects Mr Teye Nyaonu's right to express his view, the party finds the statement uninformed, distasteful and unethical." A statement on Wednesday and signed by Mr Johnson Aseidu Nketia, General Secretary of the NDC said the National Executive Committee had invited Mr Nyaonu, MP for Lower Manya Krobo, and the Minority Leader in Parliament to a meeting on Thursday January 31st 2008 to discuss the matter. It assured the general public and particularly NDC members that the party remained solidly united and was confident in Prof. Mills' ability to lead the party to victory in the December 2008 elections.
