Samuel Kofi Owusu-Agyei, Minister responsible for Public Sector Reform, has emphasized the need for Ghanaians, to use sports to promote unity, peace, love, mutual understanding and co-operation among in their traditional and administrative areas. He said these attributes constituted the core and the 'master key' for the acceleration of every human endeavor, irrespective of political, religious and ethnic affiliations. This was contained in a message that accompanied soccer equipment and cash donation totaling five million cedis, which the Minister had presented to two local football clubs in Winneba at the weekend. The equipment including, two sets of jerseys and two footballs were presented to the A C Sakora and Peace Football clubs both in Winneba. Mr Owusu-Agyei said apart from helping to sustain the peace and harmony that existed between management and members of the two clubs, the gifts were also designed to inspire talented footballers in the area to take to the game more seriously so that the area could produce some soccer giants for the nation. A friendly soccer match between the two beneficiary clubs, which A C Sakora won by a lone goal, preceded the presentation. He praised the organizers Nana and Messrs J Korsah and Company Limited, for their foresight and expressed the hope that they would make the event a regular affair to unite the people, especially the youth, who constitute the real engine for the socio-economic development of the area.
