The leadership of the Musama Disco Christo Church (MDCC) on Friday pledged their commitment to nurture the media to rescue the sinking image of the Church in order to facilitate the spread of the good news of Jesus Christ. Prophet Mokna Jeeba Fiifi Jehu-Appiah Akaboha IV, who is the General Prophet and Head of the Church, made this known when he led an 11-member delegation to interact with the Management and Staff of the Ghana News Agency in Accra. He said on March 1, this year, the Church would organise a media encounter to tap the needed expertise to package an information strategy to promote spiritual growth. Prophet Jehu-Appiah said MDCC, as a Pan-African Pentecostal establishment, had stood for the interest of the State since its inception about a century ago. Prophet Jonasoma Sammy Jehu-Appiah, General Secretary of MDCC, said the Church was hit by leadership crises, which led to the dismissal of Prophet Miritaiah Jehu-Appiah, Akaboha III. He said the new administration had adopted the policy to cultivate healthy relations with the media to chart a positive course. Mr Boakyi-Dankwa Boadi, Supervising Chief Editor of GNA, who received the delegation on behalf of the Management, commended the Church for embracing the course of dialogue to navigate the stormy waters that nearly sunk its rich cultural appeal to history. He noted that the Agency did not take sides in the leadership dispute of the Church, because of its mandate to promote national cohesion and integration. "We were aware of every bit of the problem, but since the Church has African roots, its image was protected." The Church later offered intercessory prayers for the Agency and peace and stability of the country.
