Former President John Agyekum Kufuor, left Accra Sunday night for Paris, France, as a speaker at a three-day conference of the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF). The conference on the theme:"Re-positioning Africa for the 21st Century: Progress, Prospects and Challenges" is part of events towards the ACBF's 20th anniversary in 2011 Mr Frank Agyekum, Spokesperson of the former President, said in a statement that, he would speak on: "Governance and Transformative Leadership in Africa: Progress, Potential and Challenges." According to Frannie Leautier, Executive Secretary ACBF and former Chief of Staff at the World Bank, former President Kufuor's experiences and role in promoting Ghana's development and democratic credentials on the continent would enhance the success of the conference. Among leading dignitaries attending the conference are: Tertius Zongo, former Prime Minister of Burkina Faso; Paul Martin, former Prime Minister of Canada; Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Managing Director of the World Bank and Michel Camdessus, former Director-General of the International Monetary Fund.
