Former New Patriotic Party National Youth Organiser, John Boadu, has served notice he will take on The Informer newspaper to defend his reputation. He accuses the paper of continuously publishing lies about him, but he will endure it no more. On Peace FM Wednesday morning, John Boadu who had been called in to respond to claims he had recommended to NPP 2012 flag bearer, Nana Akufo-Addo to sack Madam Frances Essiam from his communication team, said the claim by The Informer could only be a fabrication. John Boadu said The Informer, prior to the Wednesday publication, had last week reported that Nana Addo had sacked all members of his communication team who hail from Northern Ghana. This happened, according to him, after Nana Addo had asked him (John Boadu) to speak on the Ivorian crisis on his behalf. He said journalists on The Informer, who he described as toddlers (with his host Kwami Sefa Kayi protesting), have targeted him for a campaign of lies and vilification and “I think that I need to take The Informer on” because “I believe (that) I have an image to protect.” According to John Boadu, on another occasion, he had spoken against Asikuma Odoben Brakwa MP, PC Appiah Ofori’s ‘harsh’ condemnation of Oguaa chiefs following the altercation that followed Nana Addo’s late arrival and subsequent refusal to greet at the function, and posited that the regional council could also have helped to avert the situation by acknowledging Nana Addo's presence. He said to his amazement, The Informer chose to report that he, John Boadu, had said he regretted his Central Region ancestry and expressed the wish he would have placed his lineage with the Akyems of the Eastern Region. “Can you imagine this! Can you imagine some of these people?” he exclaimed. He said if the beef of the paper and its journalists was his continued propagation of the NPP as a better option for the nation as opposed to the NDC, then "I will continue to do that, you understand, but I will also not allow some toddlers to tarnish my hard won reputation."
