Defending Champions Egypt beat Cameroun by four goals to two in their Cup of Nations Group C duel at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi. In a game that opened and closed with a penalty each, first to Egypt and then to Cameroun, it was Hosny Moteleb Abdel who converted a 14th minute penalty, before M. Zidan added another three minutes later and a personal second on the stroke of half time (45th minute). Cameroun's goal was the result of a header from Samuel Eto'o who scored in the 51st minute. H.A. Abdel restored Egypt to the three-goal lead when he scored in the 82nd minute. Samuel Eto'o in the 90th minute converted from the penalty spot to end matters at 4:2. Line-up Egypt: ESAM KAMAL TAWFIK EL HADARY, MAHMOUD FATHALLA ABDOU IBRAHIM, HANY MOHAMED SAID GAD, AHMED FATHY ABDEL MENEIM IBRAHIM, HOSNY ABDRABOU ABDEL MOTELEB, MOHAMED ABDALLA MOHAMED ZIDAN, EMAD MOHAMED ABDELNABI IBRAHIM, MOHAMED SHAWKY ALY ALY SALAM, SAID MOAWAD ABDELWAHED, AMR HASAN ZAKY MANSOUR, WAEL GOMAA KAMEL ELHAWTY. Cameroun: KAMENI IDRIS CARLOS, SONG RIGOBERT, ATOUBA THIMOTHEE, NJITAP GEREMI, ETO’O FILS SAMUEL, MAKOUN JEAN II, TSAFACK NGUEMO LANDRY, EPALLE JOEL DIEUDONNE, IDRISSOU MOHAMADOU, MBIA ETOUNDI STEPHANE, BIKEY AMOUGOU ANDRE.
