The Executive Chairman of the School Feeding Programme (SFP) says a well known member of the NPP is behind the allegations of corruption against him. Dr. Amoako Tuffuor said the person had been cought in some nefarious activities. In the person’s bid to save his face, he decided to hide behind the CJA to make the allegations. He said that investigations conducted into the person’s activities pointed to the fact that the unnamed person was culpable. Speaking on Citi FM news, Dr. Tuffuor said “This is a very treacherous person”. “We cannot steal money because auditors will come and when they come we will be found out”, Dr. Tuffuor noted. He welcomed any enquiry into the activities of the programme to ascertain the veracity of the allegations made against him. The Committee for Joint Action, on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 called for the immediate dismissal of Dr. Tuffuor. It said an independent enquiry ought to be launched into the activities of the School Feeding Programme to stop what it called the “wanton corruption”. Speaking on behalf of the CJA, Mr. Kwesi Pratt Jnr. Said the programme had become an avenue for stealing state resources.
