Dan Lartey Gets Ready For The Castle Website
The founder and leader of Great Consolidated People’s Party (GCPP), Mr. Dan Lartey says he is in line for the December 7 elections. Ghana’s ‘Mr. Domestication’ told the Network Herald newspaper he was certain of the Congress of the party scheduled for KNUST in Kumasi on Saturday May 23, 2008 as suggested by the regional conferences that deliberated the choice of date, venue and candidates. He will however not avail us the names of other aspirants because he expected them to make the announcement themselves. Moreover, GCPP has secured its parliamentary candidates and was ready to salvage Ghanaians from retrogressive economic policies and nurtured into a country capable of changing its destiny. He repeated his conviction that a ‘domestication’ budget of $814 billion would reactivate industries to ensure regular and equitable wages and salaries. “GCPP would increase salaries by about 400% and entrepreneurs given soft loans to be able to pay satisfactory salaries to Ghanaian workers,” he added. Mr. Lartey revealed that the thrust of a GCPP administration would centre on the reform of the Civil Service which he said, would engender a positive outlook and encourage the people to work harder to support the economy. A GCPP government will also introduce subsidies on local farming and fishing so they can produce enough food on large scale to ensure food security. Mr. Lartey also suspected that the impending visit of American President George Bush to Ghana was to enable him assess the real crude oil potential of the recent discovery at Cape Three Point. He asserted that the visit will afford further grounds of ensuring that a projected US Military bases is sited on Ghanaian soil.
