CPP Presidential Vetting Committee Invites Information on Candidates

The Convention People's Party Presidential Vetting Committee is inviting from fully paid-up party members information about any of the six candidates, who have put up themselves for election as flag bearers. A statement signed by Professor Nii Noi Dowuona, CPP General Secretary asked members to submit such written information to the Committee through the General Secretary on or before Tuesday, 13th November 2007. Meanwhile, the six candidates namely, Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, Prof A.B. Akosa, Mr George Aggudey, Mr Bright Akwetey, Dr Kwaku Osafo and Dr F.W.A. Akuffo are scheduled to appear before the vetting committee on November 14. The Central Committee of the Convention People's Party set up a seven-member Presidential Candidates Vetting Committee in line with Article 72 of the Party's constitution to vet members who filed their nomination papers to contest the flag bearer's position at the forthcoming Third National Party Congress. The members of the committee are Justice Jones Mensah, Justice Opare Addo, Mr Riley Poku, Mrs Jane Chinebuah, Mad. Tina Dadzie, Mr R.O. Frimpong-Manso and Dr Charles Vandick.
