Chief Executive Officer of the Bui Power Authority, Jabesh Amissah-Arthur has exonerated the General Secretary of the ruling NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia saying there is no conflict of interest in his (Asiedu Nketia) providing of blocks for the Bui Project. Mr Asiedu Nketia has been accused of conflict of interest by the opposition NPP. The NDC scribe who is a board member of the Bui Power Authority also has a block manufacturing company that has been providing blocks to companies working on the project. According to the Bui boss, the contract of providing blocks for the project was sub-contracted to some local block providers hence Mr Asiedu-Nketia’s involvement in the whole project. He however told Citi News that there is no conflict of interest on the part of Asiedu Nketia who also happens to be a board member of the Bui Power Authority. “The local contractors get their blocks wherever they want to get it from…we have no interest wherever they buy it from. The Chinese in the middle of the work said their plant could not deliver the blocks anymore so they were allowed to go out so if that happens then I don’t see the governance problem in this matter”.
