WO 1 Richard Nixon Tetteh, an Independent Presidential Candidate in the upcoming 2008 elections has called on Ghanaians, especially political leaders to allow the rule of law to work in the country without interruptions. In a press release issued to the GNA in Tema on Tuesday, the candidate noted that Ghanaians have gained experience in its democratic system to enable them to make their "own informed decisions and choices and must not be coerced in taking decisions against their wishes". "Ghanaians have come of age and there is the need to allow the rule of law to take its own course", he stated. He said the caution statements being issued by opposition parties against the announcing of election results ahead of the Electoral Commission should be accepted in good faith. WO Tetteh warned that any attempt to deprive the people of their rights to make choices in the elections would not be tolerated, saying that, the people are going through economic hardships under the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government. "It will however take people like me and other well meaning stakeholders to champion the cause of the poor Ghanaians". To this end, he called on Ghanaians to vote him into power assuring of transforming the economy of the nation to the benefit of all. "With unity and sense of patriotism, Ghanaians should support me to uphold our freedom and justice for the betterment of the youth and the generations unborn.
