A 35-year-old husband and a father of two was in the morning of Friday, February 22, 2008 found hanging on a tree at Kwadaso-Hwimase, a suburb of Kumasi. Dada Boat, the deceased, a beer bar operator, is alleged to have hanged himself with a net sponge on a tree near his house. According to an eye witness, one Cynthia, who lives directly opposite the deceased’s house, at 06:00 hours on that day, while she was going to dump refuse, she spotted the bar operator’s lifeless body hanging on a tree with his feet on the ground. The lady who was shocked and afraid took to her heels and raised an alarm and when residents rushed to the place they saw the body hanging. A report was made to the police and the body was conveyed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for autopsy. Some residents, who are closer to the deceased linked a quarrel that had ensued between the dead man and his wife the previous night to his death. Police source at the Sofoline Station, a suburb of Kumasi confirmed the incident when Ghana News Agency (GNA) contacted them. The police say they are investigating the incident.
