Afghan security men during overnight raids arrested seven "terrorists" and suicide attackers from southern Afghanistan's Kandahar city, which has seen two consecutive bombing attacks during past five days, provincial governor said Thursday. Kandahar Governor Asadullah Khalid told Xinhua via phone that these militants, with their leader involved, were suspected to be behind the recent two explosions which rocked Kandahar city, the provincial capital. Explosives, four machine guns and some "documents" were also found from the belongings of the militants, the governor added. Taliban militants in a remote-controlled car bomb blast killed one person and injured four others, all of them civilians, in Kandahar city on Tuesday. On Sunday, a suicide blast rocked a dog-fighting contest in the city, leaving over 100 people dead and dozens wounded, for which there has been no responsibility claim but officials blamed the Taliban.
