Three people including a woman had indicated their intention to contest the Suhum and Ayensuano Parliamentary Constituency seats in the Suhum Kraboa Coaltar District as Independent Candidates. They are Mr Otuo Kofi, a car dealer, Miss Matilda Akosua Doccuvi, a chemical seller, both for the Suhum Constituency and Mr Addo Agyekum, Director of Titiatipong Herbal Clinic for Ayensuano constituency. Spokespersons for the candidates told the Ghana News Agency that the contestants had already released their posters and informed the District Electoral Office. They said the two incumbent New Patriotic Party members of Parliament in those two constituencies had disappointed the people and failed to fulfill their promises. The spokespersons noted that Suhum and Ayensuano constituencies were hub of industrial and commercial activities but were lagging behind in development due to bad leadership.
