The new United States ambassador to Angola, Dan Mozena arrives to the country this Saturday, to begin his diplomatic mission, after being sworn in last November 19. Nominated by the US President, George Bush, last August 16, Dan Mozena was confirmed by that country's senate in September. He was sworn in as the representative of the USA government in Angola, on 19 November 2007, in the presence of the Assistant Secretary of State for African Issues, Jendayi Frazer, in a ceremony witnessed by the Angolan ambassador to the United States of America, Josefina Pitra Diakité. Dan Mozena shall be the sixth diplomat to lead a USA mission in Angola, replacing Cynthia Efird, who recently ended her three-year mission to the country. A member of the USA diplomatic services, the official held the post of director of the Office of Southern African Affairs from 2004 to 2007, when he led the US bilateral relation with Angola. With a vast experience in Africa, Dan Mozena also represented the United States in Zambia, DR Congo, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
