Vivienne Lifts March Ladies Medal

VIVIENNE Enyonam Avornyo, one Achimota Golf Club’s new find, announced her presence with the lifting of the club’s ladies March monthly medal 'bronze category' golf her at the Achimota Golf Course on Thursday. Playing to handicap 29 and competing among seasoned lady golfers like the 1999 lady Captain, Francesca Vandyke, immediate past lady captain Mary Hanson, Vivienne returned a three-under par 69 net to win the trophy, her first in golf. In second place was Mrs Vandyke 73 net, who beat Mary Hanson 77 net for the third place while newly elected lady Captain Essi Cobbina trailed with 79 net. Victoria Adjei also playing to handicap 15 in the Silver Division busted with 69 net for the trophy beating Susie Abaloo-Kumassah (Handicap 14), and 71 net but on count back from joy Arkutu (Handicap 12). Clara Price (Handicap 19) was 4th equalling the course par score of 72 net while vivacious Mona Captain, playing to her single digit handicap of seven picked the booby prize with 77 net. Mrs Cobbina performing her first captain’s role presented trophies to the winners and urged members to help keep the ladies section active and lively with enthusiasm and regular participation particularly at these monthly medal events.
