The good news for Ghanaian viewers is that four of the country's topflight actors and television personalities are among the cast - Akofa Adjeani Asiedu, Juliet Asante, Omar Captan and Christ Attoh will be selling Ghana's fine acting flair to the rest of the world. M-Net Africa commissioned the soap last year as part of its strategy to create programming for its West African audience. Tinsel is produced by Nigeria's 341 Media, a TV production company run by Jaiye Ojo, Femi Odugbemi and Lemmy Adebule who have promised to "entertain viewers across Africa for a long time with a compelling storyline of romance, intrigue and passion in a glamorous world." The soap runs on interesting themes such as power struggle, infidelity and love. Can a beauty queen find love with a penniless photographer? That is a question viewers may itch to find answers to. Akofa Adjeani Asiedu shrewdly plays the role of Ivy, an older cousin to John Kwame Mensah (Chris Attoh) and Brenda Nana Mensah (Juliet Asante), whose roles were so expertly handled to tell the world how far acting in Ghana had come.
