Achimota Medal Golf Tees Off On June 21

The June Medal Open Golf championship of the Achimota Golf Club tees off at Achimota in Accra on Saturday, June 21. Mr Kwabena Oteng-Aboagye, General Manager of the Club, told GNA Sports in Accra on Thursday, that the one-day event, which is open to amateur golfers in the Greater Accra Region, would be sponsored by Prudential Bank Limited. He said about 120 golfers are expected to participate in the competition which would be played under the rules of the Achimota Golf Club and the Ghana Golf Association. Mr Oteng-Aboagye called on registered participants to report early for the event to tee off on schedule. Mr John Sackah Addo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Prudential Bank would present the trophies to the winners. Golfers use Monthly Medal competitions to sharpen up their strokes for major competitions. Meanwhile Tafo Golf Club would welcome Celebrity Golf Club in a return golf encounter at the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana’s (CRIG) Golf Course at Tafo on June 21.
