IMF projects single-digit inflation for Ghana in 2025 ©The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has forecasted a single-digit inflation rate of 8% for Ghana by the end of 2025, aligning with the government's target for the same period.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) predicts that Ghana's inflation will be 8% by the end of 2025. This matches what the government wants. Ghana's government wants to lower inflation from 23% to 15% in 2024. They hope to get it even lower, below 10%, by 2025.

Ghana last had inflation below 10% in 2021, when it was 9.97%. But in the years after, it shot up, reaching a 22-year high of 54.1% despite aiming for 31.9%.

The IMF says good things about Ghana's economy in their World Economic Outlook Report at the IMF/World Bank Spring Meetings.

The IMF thinks Ghana's inflation will be 8% because of the good things Ghana has done with the IMF's help.

The Bank of Ghana says it will try to keep inflation around 15% in 2024. It will use tight money policies to control inflation.

The IMF says Ghana's economy will grow by 4.4% in 2025, up from 2.8% in 2024.

But the IMF thinks Ghana's current account balance will drop by 2.2% because of trade and finance activities.

Even with this problem, the IMF thinks Ghana's economy will get much better starting next year.
