Only 28 percent of Junior High School (JHS) candidates who sat the 2010/2011 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Sissala West District passed. The district scored 18 percent in last year’s BECE and managed to improve by 10 percent this year. Mr. Robert Bakah Wavei, the Sissala West District Chief Executive, said this during the second ordinary meeting of Assembly in Gwollu, the district capital. He said Wiiro Junior High School scored zero percent in the Examination. Mr Wavei expressed regret at the poor performance and called for efforts by all education stakeholders to overcome the challenge.
