The Ghana-Lebanon Islamic Secondary School (GLISS) is a privately owned second cycle institution with an auxiliary Junior Secondary School at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra, Ghana. The school was founded in January, 2001 and commissioned on May 19, 2001. It is owned and patronized by local Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) called the Ghana Society for Islamic Education and Reformation (GSIER). The school was established in pursuance of the society's objective to provide quality education and excellent moral training and discipline to the Ghanaian youth. GLISS currently has a total student population of over six hundred (600) from both its senior and junior secondary school departments. Our admission policy is totally non-discriminatory in terms of religion, gender or nationality. About sixty percent (60%) of the students population are girls and close to thirty (30%) of the population are Christians. within the brief six-year period of its existence the school has built an enviable reputation for itself in academic excellence and student discipline. this is evidenced by the fairly large number of our past students in tertiary institutions in the and outside the country. Its also pertinent to mention that the school is a non profit making institution, our fees are therefore relatively moderate. Most brilliant but needy students of the school are on scholarships financed by the school and few philanthropists and organizations. The GSIER established GLISS as its contribution to the educational empowerment of the Ghanaian youth, particularly those from the less privileged Muslim communities. Other schools established and run by GSIER are the Madina Islamic School, Arayan International school and Islamic Teacher Training Institute all in Accra.
