President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, will arrive in Ghana on Sunday, November 2, 2025, for a three-day state visit aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation between Ghana and Germany.

According to a statement issued by the Presidency Communications Directorate, President Steinmeier’s visit will focus on strengthening relations in trade, investment, technology, and development cooperation.

The official programme begins on Monday, November 3, with a full military Guard of Honour at the Forecourt of The Presidency.

He will then hold closed-door discussions with his host, President John Mahama, in the Credentials Room, where both leaders will lead their respective delegations for bilateral talks.

A State Luncheon will be held later in the day in honour of President Steinmeier and his delegation at the Presidential Banquet Hall.

The German President will also lay a wreath at the tomb of Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, during a guided tour of the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park.

He is expected to engage young Ghanaian IT specialists before attending a reception at the German Ambassador’s Residence.

On Tuesday, November 4, President Steinmeier will travel to Kumasi, where he will perform a sod-cutting ceremony at the Kumasi Technical Institute.

He will also visit the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to interact with the Vice Chancellor, staff, and alumni.

His itinerary in Kumasi includes a tour of the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research and a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace.

The statement, signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, stated that the visit underscores the growing partnership between Ghana and Germany in advancing mutual economic and technological goals.
