The Assistant Headmistress for the Primary Sector of St. Ann Anglican Basic School, Evelyn Oforiwaa Okyere has appealed to the government, philanthropists, and NGOs among others to help stock up their computer laboratories with more computers.

This according to her will aid in the smooth teaching and learning of Information and Communication Technology, ICT in the school since it is a practicable subject.

Mrs. Okyere made the appeal when delivering a speech on behalf of the Headmistress, Precious Edith Blankson during the second graduation ceremony of the school.

She mentioned some challenges bedeviling the school which needs urgent attention.

Aside from these challenges, Mrs. Okyere disclosed that, the school through the help of a religious body has been able to establish library which contains one thousand 400 books for pupils and staff of the school. According to her, the school is part of the 42 schools in the Eastern Region that has recently been lifted as a model school through the hard work of the teachers.

 

The Chairman of the St Ann Anglican Basic School Management Committee, Felix Sowah who was delivering the keynote address on the theme “Effects of Broken Homes in Our School; the way forward” explained a broken home as a situation where a husband and wife cannot continue to keep their marriage or relationship due to many reasons.

Most children from these homes according to him portray different characteristics that negatively affect their academic work and social life. Hence, Mr. Sowah outlined some measures that can help to reduce broken homes.

A total of twenty-six Junior High School pupils graduated while deserving pupils were awarded for their extra-ordinary performance in the Basic Education Certificate Examination.
